A place to discuss the uniquely delectable gift from heaven known as the West Virginia Hot Dog.
Over at Epicurious, a great food site, they published this list of America's ten best hot dogs. While I am glad that a West Virginia hot dog joint made the list, I am surprised that it is one about which I have received not a single email or comment since starting this blog.
Can anyone up there in the Clarksburg shed light on Ritzy Lunch?

A true West Virginia hot dog is a heavenly creation that begins with a wiener on a soft steamed bun. Add mustard, a chili-like sauce and top it off with coleslaw and chopped onions and you have a symphony of taste that quite possibly is the reason that many transplanted West Virginians can never really be happy living anywhere else. Different parts of West Virginia have variations on the theme but the common elements are sweet, creamy coleslaw and chili. Anything else is just not a true West Virginia hot dog!

Yeah, if you are ever up the Clarksburg way, its' real easy to find. Get off route 50 at the parking garage, and at the first light you see, take a right. It's 4 or 5 blocks down the street. It's just a little hole in the wall type place, kinda looks like a bar.
And yes, it's dogs are pretty damn good. I had one years ago, can't remember much about it (ie, was it a real wv hotdog - sauce, onions, mustard, slaw), aside from the fact it was good.
